  1. Hopefully Peking were the last games where politics outran sports. Let's come back to simplicity again. Olympic games were made to sportsmanship and individaul performance on centerstage and not heroic national self representation. Atlanta was the uttermost limit of commercialisation, Peking at the very end was a political event!

  2. Too bad America lost...no I mean they won, who cares what others say. It was heartbreaking to see America lose first place in gold medal counts.

  3. hi man no doubt its the best ever and you can view the spectacle time and agian here visit this site http://tvchannels2pc.com ,it provides

huge number of sports channel, you can watch either live

Olympic games or even recorded part of it any time.

  4. I was disappointed.

The opening ceremonies seemed great, until we heard the fireworks were somehow digitally placed in there.

There has been so much controversy over the age of the athletes.

Many athletes have tested positive for drugs.

    Arguments over who "really won".

No individual country's scores show up on TV, just the final score.

    Tie breaking rule changes

New scoring system in gymnastics seems pointless

Too much controversy and I don't think it lives upto the hype. I lost interest a few days ago.

    LA is still my favorite.

  5. Well, I've only lived for 6 Olympics, 2 of which I was too young to watch.  I definitely think that the Beijing Olympics were the best technical wise.  I think the ceremonies were amazing, but a small part of me was like, "It's all just a big show.  Were they really feeling what they were displaying?"  With technological advances, this beats them all!  And I thought Sydney was amazing!  Then came Greece and I thought that was the best!  But here it is:

    1. Beijing

    2. Athens

    3. Sydney

However, Seoul '88 will be my favorite Olympics!!!

  6. I think it was great. People just whine and complain too much :P.

  7. It would have been the best ever if the host country hadn't cheated. That's just downright horrible for the host country to cheat. It's better to be a losing host country than a lying one.

  8. This was the first olympics iv'e actually really got in to and been really interested in and i thought it was great!

The opening ceremony was fantastic even if they did edit it a tad and it seemed pretty organised. And although there was a lot of fuss over cheats..what do you expect when all the worlds countires come together to compete! Its the olympics..theres always going to be controversy.

London has a pretty hard act to follow!

  9. Regrettably, I was anticipating that the opening ceremony will be marked by the reenactment of the invention of gunpowder.....a very important Chinese event that marked the opening and overture to modern fireworks all over the world. That didn't happen, even though they still shot off about 30,000 pieces of fireworks.

I think Beijing is comparable to Seoul's version of the games, but LA is still the best.

And like Munich, there was an attack on a volleyball coach in Beijing. but it was not the awful terrorism incident like it was in 1972. Regrettably still, there were bombings in China leading up to the games, and I deeply regret that because it reminded me of not only Munich, but the explosive riots in Mexico City in 1968 during the revolution at Tlatelco University.
