  1. w/o upsets, probly 7-5, 8-4 or 9-3(im sure youll beat mizzou, i want you to, too cuz im a jayhawk fan) youll beat all your non-conf. opponents, and youll probly lose to Wiscy,Michigan, and OSU for sure (unless you can pull out an upset like last year). Penn State and Missouri are tossups this year, and im sure youll beat everyone else in the big10, (although watch out for iowa and northwestern, theyve gottne alot better ive heard)

  2. I'll be honest i don't think the outlook for the Illini is good this year (or at least compared to last year) for two reasons:

    1. Mendenhall was a huge loss cause his power running freed Juice Williams to work the outside and the deep pass (which is how he beat OSU last season)

    2. With the Big Ten having a done year (outside of OSU) a 9-3 record won't give them a BCS bowl game

  3. The loss of Mendenhall is real.  He was excellent, and with his professional attitude and work ethic, I believe he will have an outstanding pro career.  I also believe that the depth the Illini have may bring some pleasant surprises in two or more outstanding athletes asserting themselves to take that starting RB role.  Also keep in mind that Juice will have another year under his belt.  He is very strong and gives their two primary competitors - WI and OSU - fits.

The Illini got up fast last year on Mizzou, and I believe they would have beat them if Juice hadn't had the head injury midway in that game.

The tough games for Illinois this season will be Wisconsin and OSU, but OSU at Champaign will notch a victory for the Illini. Michigan is in disarray with the new coach, and players leaving, and Illinois will beat them (as they should have done last year barring the fumbled punt).

OSU is not any more of a threat than last year - because - keep in mind - they are still led by the same marginal QB.

I think your 10-2 analysis is a good one, and with a few breaks, it could be even better.  Last season was a phenomenal lesson to the Illini. They were in every game they played in the regular season, and had the opportunity to win them all.  Their head coach and offensive coach are outstanding.

  4. I think the illini will do good. But your not going to beat Ohio State this year. Your team wont be pulling a upset like last year. But other then that i think the illini will do really well.

  5. Ok my opionion on the illini football season. The Mizzou and Ohio St game I do see a split in this series. You do have the buckeyes at home and the buckeyes have wisconsin on the road as well, the only two teams I see in the Big 10 giving the Buckeyes any real trouble this year inside the Big 10 .

If you drop the Mizzou game then I expect you to upset the Buckeyes

at home, your players and the fans will be hanging off the rafters for that game, especially if the Buckeyes come into Champain unbeaten.

If you knock of Mizzou and you both come in unbeaten then wow what a game that'll be.

If you both have one loss coming into this match up and then most likley that game like the unbeaten scenario will be a toss up.

Your team has the confidence and really in truth the pressure is on

OSU not your fighting Illini. So that pressure plus home field advatage could spell back to back wins against the Buckeye's.10-2 or possible better outcome, your scare is after the OSU game if you win do you have enough in the tank to win , most likely be your let down game.

  6. i hope they beat mizzou
