How do you think the Killer Bees will go this weekend?

Or do you follow the Itsoseng Kangaroos?

Five players from the South African national squad, who are in Perth in preparation for the forthcoming Australian Football International Cup will play with the colts & reserves sides of Swan Districts, in the WAFL, this weekend. They play for teams with the above listed names - I love the Killer Bees!

Three players will play for the colts & two with the reserves sides. By playing them here in WA before they reach the carnival in Melbourne & Warrnambool they get tied to a WAFL club before anyone on the eastern seaboard sees them - pretty smart, eh?

Anyway I will be barracking for Finland to win the cup.

  1. I'm really confused also, i haven't heard about this in the paper or on the news. anyway all i can say is Go West Perth and Go West Coast!!

  2. Firstly melanie d, since when has this been an AFL section? It is for Australian Rules Football - AFL, WAFL, SAFL, Tassie, NT, Woop-Woop or even the Black Stump league.  I do not find it surprising that you find it confusing...in fact your answer is more confusing, to tell the truth.

Yes, I also read the article in the WA local paper. The team referred to is the South African leagues Mafikeng Killer Bees. I believe the asker was just trying a bit of humour. it obviously didn't work with some people.

The article mentioned teams from countries, such as Ireland, NZ, Great Britain, China, Papua New Guinea & Finland...18 in all.

I too would have to say Finland would have to be hot favourites.

  3. You mean the Brisbane killer bees? They got their asses handed to them by the hawks!!!!

  4. I think your question is really confusing...... this forum is for the AFL ... not the state sides and the likes....... Sorry my friend but again really confusing....

  5. Glad to see an entry about the Australian Rules International Cup.

I've been to PNG & seen them play the game there. They are really passionate about the game. I don't know what the other countries will be like.

    Finland????

  6. Yeah, I like that name & hope they do well.

A bit cheeky, getting those young blokes to play a game with a local WAFL team. I think that will tie them to that club if ever they do show promise & want to come to oz.

  7. You know, I thought they made us raised in country town in South West WA/East Perth Supporting/Eagle Supporting folk a bit tougher!!

Apologies if I offended you with my comments, was not my intention.

(Don't have to block this one, I created it specially for this as I can't contact you any other way. It will never be used again)

  8. Hey melanie d. This is the Australian Rules section. Not the AFL section. Hate to burst your bubble but there is more than 1 footy comp in Australia.

  9. After seeing that photo on the back page of the West I am going for South Africa I bet they would be great to watch.

  10. Glad someone actually knows about the International Cup. (Sorry Melanie this IS an AFL question).

I'll be baracking for the British bulldogs, but I think New Zealand will probably win again, or maybe South Africa.

Good to see the game expanding, but the AFL are pathetic in the lack of promotion of the series, Demetriou and Anderson should be sacked!

I would love to see the winners play against an Aussie team, maybe from the VFL or maybe Melbourne , the way they are playing.

I think the final will be played as curtain raiser to the Prelim. Final at the G.
