How do you think the motocross racers of yesterday would stack up against those of today?

and who would be the best? Bob Hannah, Roger Decoster, Rick Johnson, Jeremy Mcgrath, Johnny Omara, so many more good ones. Wouldn't it be cool to see 'em together?

This is a great question. The factors that make motocross unique compared to most other sports is that technology has such a huge roll in how well riders compete. The old school racers are the reason for technology advancing, making the bikes more ridable in different conditions. They did not have the travel or light weight bikes that are available to the public today. Granted they were still powerful, but now technology has the factory bikes performing at a different level than any bike most privateers can get their hands on. If you put Johnny-O, Tony-D, Bob Hannah, or Roger DeCoster on one of today's bikes when they were younger they would definitely compete and possibly dominate. These guys were some of the innovators of the sport, meaning they didn't have generations of people explaining to them how to ride a dirt bike on different track. They wrote the book. Not to take away from today's riders, they are extremely fast, I'm just not sure some of them would even be racing if it did not become main steam.

It would be awsome to see Jeremey McGrath and Guy Cooper again. They'd be flying by everyone.

It depends....are we using the bikes of yesteryear...or todays equipment.  

I think physically they are about the same.  It is the equipment that is different.

it would be cool to see everyone, in thier prime, race against each other, but I have to admit it, as some may not like this answer, but Ricky Carmichael would beat them all.
