How do you think the stock market will preform in the upcoming week? ?

(08/25 - 08/29) Considering every think that's happening do you think the market will close lower or higher this week?

It will fluctuate.

There is an equal chance that it will close either way.

It depends on what oil prices do and the economic data.  I believe its going to finish the week lower though.  There is quite a bit of economic data coming out this week.  Existing home sales, GDP, jobless claims, new home sales, consumer confidence, durable goods, personal income and spending.  I think the balance if this data will be negative for the markets.  But oil inventories come out on Wednesday and I expect a rise, which will temper oil prices and the rest of the negative economic data.  So I expect the markets to be volatile but to finish the week moderately lower probably.  Based on the futures indexes it looks like a lower open for MOnday.

There will be some volatility in the market this week. Oil will influence the movement of the market as well as spending data, and existing home sales.
