If some explorers found a small group of dodos (the extinct birds) in the wild somewhere, how do you think the world would react? Just curious.

  1. what makes you think they are extinct we have plenty of dodos in congress

  2. I would like to eat one.

  3. I'd see if they really do taste like chicken

  4. they would be hunted back into extinction. duh.

  5. Well, I think we have seen reactions similar, with the discovery of new animal species in the past few years, and the discovery of many archaeological finds - and you could not hear the sound of millions applauding or cheering.  I think we're pretty much a society where the scientists would be jumping for joy, and the rest of us would react with an "Oh wow!" and maybe try to plan a visit to the zoo or place where they might be seen.  I think the strongest reaction would come from school children and their families - they are in the learning process and it would be very exciting for them.  Now, the question you didn't ask, was what would happen if an extra terrestrial was found - and that you would hear the world jumping up and down and running for the tv to see.  I think we look more outward now - into space, and I think that's where all the future excitement will be.

  6. Most of the world would just go Oh well, what else in new??
