How do you think this ron artest deal is going to work?

im a die-hard rockets fan i dont know if he is going to do good or if he is going to be a cancer?

I think he's going to be pretty awesome! He'll fit right in with the Rockets stiffling defense. And with Stars like T-mac,Yao and yes I'm going to say Francis( I have a feeling he's coming back with a vengeance this year) and with a great bench and a spot up brent Barry, I think Artest is going to take advantage of 1 on 1 oppurtunities. And as long as no fans throws beer at him we're set! ROCKETS are gonna be REALLL TOUGH THIS year, Tmac will finally see the second round!

I think this deal will work for the Rockets.  It will give them a 3rd offensive person to go to plus give them a strong defensive player that can play up to 3 positions.  No outside player is capable of dominating both ends of the floor like Artest.  Plus Artest does have a good history with the coach. Adelman has first-hand knowledge of how positively Artest, when focused, can impact a team.

rasheed wallace was also called bad news but gave detroit a title and consecutive east finals. dennis rodman was king of bad news but helped bulls to 3 titles. ron artest and rockets would like to follow and even get just 1.

I'm a die hard rockets fan too and i think that the rockets will be a top 2 NBA team. with the addition of barry ,who can provide a outside shooter on the bench ( which they did not have much of last season), late - game situational point guard, and brings deep playoff experience that the Rockets do not have a lot of, could really give the Rockets what they need in the playoffs.

Then the deal to get Artest is just going to make the Rockets just one of the toughest teams defensively and offensively, too.  A lot of people say this trade is to risky, that it will s***w up your teams chemistry.  But the Rockets organization, the players, and the whole Houston community that support the Rockets including Ron Artest feel that it is Rocket's time get out of the first round and to win a NBA championship title.

And if the trade does not work out the rockets pretty much gave away and expiring contract and 2 late first round draft picks and a million dollars.

But hopefully Ron Artest will play good and he seems really happy to play with McGrady and Yao.  and he really enjoyed playing under Rick Aldeman's system.  and since next year will be artest's last year on his contract he and many up-coming free agents will play hard and behave well so that they get offered the big money.  And the rocket need everyone to be healthy and artest to not be an obstacle in their path to win championship

Now hes happy to be on a good team.

Hes going to bring a lot to Houston.

Great defender and can create buckets for himself which is something McGrady Badly needed.

He's a great 3rd option.

ron artest is a huge difference maker on the court.  he might be immature off the court but he is one of the hardest working players on it, and that's all you can really ask for cause that's what they pay him for.

it was a great trade.  as long as mcgrady and yao stay healthy the rockets have a great shot of reaching the NBA finals and even winning it all because they have all the role players as well.

i am not a rockets fan by any means, i am a nets fan and their front office has been giving me ulcers sense they chose kidd over bryon scott.. i see this as being one of the biggest power moves this off season. Other then Brand to Philly i cant see anyone making a bigger impact. The team is built around yao and we will see how well he moves on the floor and thats the rockets biggest worry. Tracy proved this year he can carry a team and he proved himself in the playoffs.  He still has not won a series but he showed up big and carried the team when they where expected to falter. Ron Artest is moved to a real good team. He always performs on the court, his numbers dont lie. Don't let anyone kid you, Artest cares about how he is seen publicly. This is Houston's answer to the lakers and suns moves during the season. i don't see how the rockets wont increase their win total this year.

If he plays without distraction, I see Ron becoming the heart and vocal leader of the Rockets
