I've noticed that everyone's opinions are a bit different. Some people think that they should convert everyone to their religion, and that would bring peace. Others worry about global warming and say that we need to stop driving cars and using electricity, etc. Personally, I think that religion, in general, has created too many wars and nobody should try to convert others, and that global warming, though it is something to worry about, will not cause a sudden flood and kill millions of people, it will take over hundreds of years to take effect. So... how do you think we can bring peace to our planet?

  1. Life is an energy machine that replicates.

Nature is the COMPETITION between these machines.

Because Life IS a Competition, there are only two kinds of peace.

The Peace of Victory & the Peace of Death.

And only one can be worldwide.

  2. The best approach is education. Don't dumb down society, that is stupid. The more educated a society becomes, the less violent they are. Statistics clearly show a correlation between literacy rates and violence. We need to do our best to promote literacy around the world. I'm not sure if peace is possible on a global level, but if it is, we will need to start with education.

  3. Stop have so many children

    Not taking Religion to seriously

    Having Open minds

    Not be such a hypocrite

Be more like Gandhi (That very peaceful guy who believe Violence is NOT the answer)

  4. I have one basic belief:

Self interest is the root of all evil.

Every bad thing in life derives from this. Read the documented teachings of Buddha; Jesus; Lao Tse and all the myriad prophets and you will find that self interest is the fault in every conflict. If there is a war then someone is feeding their self interest.

Peace requires a changing of world ethics.

  5. religion is our most dangerous threat to a peaceful world. people have let these organizations have far too much power for far too long.

people have to realize that blind faith and idealism have no place in the running of a realistic world.

after religion I think poverty is the greatest threat. when some people have everything while others have nothing and die from disease and hunger by the millions there will always be power struggles and wars.

  6. Peace is impossible. It will never happen as long as men are different from each other on the inside. Two men can be raised exactly alike and one will turn to peace while the other may become full of biases and hate. We can only control what we do ourselves.

  8. just blast the bad guys, blow 'em up, drop the big one, if necessary, surge. Who cares, they probably ain't even Amurekinz or even Christians.

  9. Perhaps the species we are as a whole, is a disastrous creation. And perhaps it is only our inadequacies which cause us to resort to evil deeds to others and our environment (but then that would qualify us within the first sentence. As I contemplate your question and what it entails, it reminds me of what Alan Watts used as a metaphor in the getting rid of the illusion of ego once it has been perceived within one's own consciousness. He said getting rid of it is like trying to lift an airliner off of the runway while it is making a run for a lift off by tugging upward on one's seat belt. As a last desperate and final solution to the problem of violence, perhaps this will be necessary: http://www.vhemt.org/

  10. The ONLY way is Naivety. Dumbing down society, to the point where were too simple to grasp the concept of war and hate.  You would need everyone to be simple minded.
