How do you think we can get rid of street crime in the US?

I'm very interested to see your opinions on this subject. Why are there so many street criminals and "gangs" in the US today and what can we do to stop it?

You will not be reported for anything, just record your honest opinion on this matter.

Americans Citizen arrest powers should be extended to misdemeanors, American gun laws should allow qualified people to more easily get guns, so they can do their part.

i think it all starts with raising children, teaching them from right and wrong. i am sick of hearing parents ask how did this happen to my child,  why did he get shot, he was a good kid.  my question is what was he doing in that crack house to start with. i believe you can tell what a kid is going to be like by their parents.  if they have mo morals or a bad character then so will the kid.  oh yea and when i got in trouble in school i got scolded   my parents never blamed it on the shcool

Get all the parents to stop allowing their kids to leave the house,so they won't be able to join gangs and control their social life.

I'm not sure if America really cares about crime.....they make so much money off of it they don't really seem to be cracking down....

Having free education, free childcare, free healthcare provided by the government..  ( which will of course never happen)

that helps a lot--> look at other countries crime rates that have these, theyre very low!

maybe there should be vigilantes. it seems those people get the job done. we should be protecting ourselves i believe in owning guns and i live in the sf area.
