How do you think western music has influenced asian music?

In terms of musical style, image, lyrical and how it commodifies asian culture.

yes it has... even some ethnic music is being inserted with a "western touch" to make it more appealing to people, especially young ones. it's just sad that this somewhat removes a bit of asian culture and history.

Western music does have some influence on some asian music...But i don't agree with the person that said it removes alot of asian culture and history....A lot of asian music combines music of both worlds which I think is great since it creates a whole new type and feel to music... Being a jpop fan myself, theirs a lot of noticeable differences in asian pop music and western pop music... Japanese music and artists tend to use alot more imagery and symbolic meanings to to express or convey their message rather than saying it straight out, is what I noticed more....
