I have a mini sewing machine...not handheld...and I have no clue of what to do with the threads. I can follow the thread guiders for the top bobbin but i don't know what to do to the thread...when it comes to the lower bobbin i'm even more confused. Do you tie the thread and cut the extra...do thread from both bobbins go in the needle? HELP!!!!!!! Tell me all there is to know. I don't have any instructions to work with!

  1. What brand sewing machine is it?  Could there be online intruction or manual to download?

Most sewing machines, the top thread goes thru the needle.  The bottom thread is in the bobbin and when you turn the wheel, its brings up the thread thru the hole in the bottom plate, then its ready for sewing.

  2. Only the top thread goes in the needle. Without the instructions, you are only guessing about the top threading. t does take a lot of experience with different machines to guess right.

For the bottom, there will usually be a metal bobbin case. Load your bobbin into it with the thread tailing off into your left hand. Make sure you pull this tail down through the slot in the side of the bobbin case. Give the thread a little tug to make sure it is going to roll smoothly.

Snap the bobbin case into its place inside the machine. Have the top of the machine already threaded with the thread in the needle. Grab the top thread in your left hand. With your right hand, roll the handwheel of the sewing machine toward you until the needle dips down and back up again. When it comes back up, it should carry the bobbin thread with it.

Brush both the top and bottom thread away from you and slide your fabric in between them. Now when you sew, the threads will lock together on your fabric.
