How do you throw a big outdoor trash can out? If I put it by the curb how would they know it's trash?

I have no way of getting to the county dump to throw it away that way. Should I wait by the curb for the trash guy? This is a serious question, though strange I know. Thanks

AHAHAHAHAAAAA  Ive had so much trouble doing that.. IT KEEPS COMING BACK!!!!!!  even went so far as o spraypaint the word GARBAGE TAKE ME on it.. still to no avail!

If you can cut it up and toss it in a another can, or wait for the garbage dude, and say HEY.. take this!!!

write FREE on a piece of paper and put it on the side of the raod, on garbage day.. that's what I would do.

Like the first guy said, put a note on it. Make sure the text is big, maybe you can say "This is trash, throw the can away as well. Thank-you."

You can also wait for the trash guy as well, to let him know you want the can thrown away too.

My first suggestion would be to take it to the dump, but since you can't do that, can you tear it up somehow and put it in the trash?  If not, then waiting for the trashman and telling him it is trash is your best bet.

If its plastic, you should probably try taking it to a recycle center, or putting a note on it if you get your recycling picked up at the curb like the garbage.

Regretabally no the Sanitation Workers will only think that it is an empty trash container and not trash itself. A few ways you can dispose of it is to either put it in a Commercial dumpster and doing that sometimes is a leagally grey area or not allowed at all. Or you can take a boxcutter or industral shears (sissors) to the container and cut it up and put it inside of a garbage bag. HOWEVER if it is provided to the resident of the home by the local municipality for use, Like many large garbage cans are, it could be considered distruction of public property. Its best to call your local city Counselman/Counselwoman and ask to have the Citys Sanitation Property removed from your adress.
