  1. un less you the worlds strongest man you cant! im 14 and can tilt my dads 30hp 4 stroke outboard up my self and its a big 1!

  2. If you personally weigh around 190 lbs or more, you should be able to lift it yourself with the proper leverage. On my friend's 110hp, one person could lift it manually by straddling over the cowling and grabbing the cowling handle and leaning back while letting out a few big grunts.

Here's another method you could try:

    1. Remove the mechanical/hydraulic lift arm (if there is one).

    2. Hook one end of a ratchet tie-down to the motor cowling and the other to a bow cleat.

    3. Ratchet it tight and lift the motor, then ratchet it again and lift the motor again.

    4. Repeat step 3 until it's all the way up.

But it sounds like you have an I/O motor. In which case, you need to replace your battery or jump it.

    Happy boating

  3. IF ITS A MERCURY / ON THE RIGHT SIDE THERES A s***w THAT YOU CAN TURN AND LIFT IT BY HAND

ITS A PRETTY BIG s***w ON THE RIGHT SIDE NOT THE FILL s***w IF YOU TAKE THAT OFF IN THE DOWN POSITION YOUR GOING TO TAKE A BATH

  4. Jumper cables and a car

  5. elbow grease and puff

  6. There should be a release pin on the side of the motor to tilt the motor by hand.  Check the manual or go on line and look it up for the location of the release pin.

  7. Jumping off from car battery is the easiest. Only other way is to drain fluid from trim pump then it must be refilled. Use another battery if tilt still works.

  8. just use your car's battery. My husband switched batteries all the time while he was working on the boat.
