How do you tone the tops of your arms?

I eat a fairly healthy diet, but just wondered if it is possible to tone my arms. And i`m 40 something.

  1. Get 2 light dumbbells and do arm curls, that will tone you nicely.


  2. I personally don't no but maybe keep lifting your arms up and down even when it hurts, that should help x

  4. Grab a pair of dumbbells or full water bottles. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Let the dumbbells hang at arms length on each side of your body. Keep your elbows close to your torso at all times.

    Moving only your forearms, use your bicep strength to curl the dumbbells up to shoulder level. Rotate your hands so that your palms are facing upwards at the top.

    Slowly lower the dumbbells to the starting position. Repeat, making sure that you keep the movement slow and controlled.

Yes it is possible.  What I would suggest is that you go for a higher rep workout and be sure to include your triceps in your routine because they make up the largest portion of your upper arms.  I would suggest a "superset" of triceps dips and standing bicep curls one night, and then pushups and and pullups the next night or in the morning.  After a few weeks or if your able to already combine them into the same routine and start adding a few more excercises.  Just make sure to include exercises which use your triceps and biceps and go for a higher rep count (around 10-15).  It will take work and commitment so keep at it.  

  6. it's not easy, but it's possible. when you lose weight by being on a diet you lose it everywhere but in your arms, or very little. when i lost 12 kg by excersising and dieting i lost only 2 cm from my arms. but i didn't do any excersise for the arms, and later when i started doing them, they toned nicely. unfortunately, the fat from them doesnt go away, only with a visible muscle it looks much better. it's not much, but i'm afraid thats all you can achieve without any surgery involved.

  7. use weights or if you dont have any handy - most people dont - try using a can of beans in each hand and raising them above your head 20 times a day for a couple of months
