How do you track a private number?

I got a phone call at 5 in the morning from a private number... and this person was saying some really... gross things to me. Well I would like to find out who this person is because it pissed me off, but I dont know how. Does anyone know?

If they call again just hang up don't say anything just hang up. if they don't have the number they can't do much. He's perv don't give him any attention.

Maybe you can talk to the Police and tell them the time they call.   Maybe they will trace the call and get that person.

If it is only one, it was random.  If it continues, call the police first to report harassing calls.  Then, armed with the police report, call the phone company.  They will give you a code to dial when you receive the call again, which will lock in the details as to where the call is coming from, which will be released ONLY to the police.

I don't think there is a way to track.. but i know you can call your Service provider and report the call and they can block that for you.

no...you can't!!!

but you can use *77 ACR...(anonymous caller rejection..)

chances are the caller is using *67 to call your house, so if you have *77 activate, his call will force him to give the number.....if all else fails, get a callerID manager!!!

I know its kinda pricey, but its yours forever...no phone company to pay..

You can trace an incoming # if it shows as private # by enabling the call trace feature, all you have to do is dial the star code(eg *57)as soon as you receive this call ,then call your provider and let them know .

however if the calls are computer generated then its pretty hard to trace.
