I want to be a horse trainer when I grow up, but i thought you had to go to college and stuff for that. There are people on here that are just normal people that say theyve trained all there horses. Well its not THAT easy, is it? sorry if this question is worded wierd, i have a problem with that.

  1. To be a professional "trainer", you do have to do schooling. You get a degree in some form of equine studies. But there are plenty of average people that do whatever they so choose as a profession (or go to school) that train their own horses. I've trained my horses myself. Now, to be a trainer like a racehorse, or something major, you need to have experience. That kind of trainer needs a degree or at least major background knowledge. But for simply training a horse to ride or do some sort of lower level event, anyone can do it if they know enough about horses. I've trained my a few simple tricks, how to respond to leg aids (my mare never learned before I got her), worked with greenies, etc.

  2. it is not THAT easy at all, do you have any horse experience? Every horse is different, most people who train horses have grown up with them all their lives.
