A driving examiner is the person who tells you if you've passed or failed (ie. conducts the tes), not a driving instructor who teaches people to drive!

  1. Yeah I think you should really have to be a driving instructor first, cos then you know what you're talking about - all the best examiners used to be driving instructors!

You actually need to have had your licence for at least FOUR years to be an examiner, no more than 3 penalty points on it, be a max of 63 years old, and you need to be CRB checked also. Most importantly you need to be a good driver and will have to take an extended version of the driving test.

  2. there's two ways....first, be over 21 have been driving for 3 years...then you can teach most people if your covered by the right insurance....or....there are course that you can do, usually through motoring school that teach you how to be a driving instructor, then they rent you one of their cars and pass on clients...think them courses cost a couple of thousand pounds!!!
