How do you tranfer videos from a MiniDV camera to a computer?

Theres this camera I want, the Cannon ZR-500 MiniDV Digital Camcorder. But I need to be able to edit and cut footage on my computer and burn it onto dvds and stuff. Also I know theres a Fisheye lens for this camera, does anyone know how much it cost? Opinions are always good to so tell me what you think about the camera if you want. I want to know if its going to be a good camera before I buy it.......

  1. After connecting you camera with a firewire cable (IEEE 1394, i-Link), you can transfer your MiniDV to your computer and edit the video with freeware Windows Moviemaker or more professional software like Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle Studio


  2. Hey Gnarly,

    Most MiniDV cameras comes with firewire IEEE (1934) cable that you plug into the camera and computer to import the video footage. You will have to get an editing, and DVD software if you don't already have them. If you check out this page, you will find additional tips on transferring video to your computer..
