  1. If "DSC" are the first three letters of the Sony miniDV camcorder model, the there are three ways to do it:

    1) If your computer has a firewire400 port, connect the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port of your computer with a Firewire cable. Firewire, i.Link and IEEE1394a are all the same thing. With the camcorder in "Play/Edit" mode, launch Microsoft MovieMaker (Windows) or Apple iMovie (Macintosh) and Capture (MovieMaker) or import (iMovieHD) the video. USB will not work. A USB to firewire converter will not work. Edit the video. Save. For Windows, use WinDVD or other DVD authoring application. For Macintosh, use iDVD.

    2) Connect the camcorder directly to a DVD recorder using a firewire cable. Read the DVD recorder manual.

    3) Connect the camcorder to the DVD recorder using the AV cables that cam in the box with the camcorder. Read the DVD recorder manual.
