I'm writing a screenplay and I'm curious what's the translation to the word "Sorrow" and "Death" in Chinese or Cantonese. Don't give me the Chinese symbol of that word, just the English spelling and pronouncation of that translation. For example: "baofu" is Chinese for revenge. Thanks, it would save me a trip to the library lol

  1. sorrow: xing tong

It literally translates to "the heart's hurt" o_o so I hope that works?

    death: si wang

It's the closest to it but not exact. I was going to write "si" but that would literally mean "die". o_o hope this helps

  2. In Cantonese

    Death is "sei mong"

Sorrow is: "bei fu" or "Bei chaw"

  3. bing bing shahasha

    means ice ice baby...

  4. in Mandarin Chinese:

Sorrow is "bēishāng".  A less strong word would be "xÄ«ntòng".

Death is "sǐwáng" or just "sǐ" (though the latter is commonly used as a verb)

    Cheers!

  5. Sorrow: bēishāng bēitòng

    Death: sǐwáng
