  1. ok when is comes to treading water.

    1. move you legs as if you are riding a bike kicking out slightly

    2. arms streched out moving back and forth  make sure your arms are under water.

    3. chin up to keep you mouth away from the water.

i find when i am teaching to start out with a swim noodle inbetween your legs for a little more boency.(sp?) when you start to feel comfortable with the movements to remove the noodle.   practicing in deeper water is easier that shallow water.

  2. That lady in the last video was pathetic. She could barely tread with two hands out of the water. And had horrible technique. This is how you really stay out of the water for a long time (watch the video). It is called Eggbeater and was invented by the Hungarians.

To quote wikipedia, "Eggbeater kick is a highly refined and efficient method of treading water."

  3. The egg beater kick is the best way to tread water for long periods of time. While in the water, move your legs like you're climbing stairs.  You don't have to do this very fast, just keep it steady and focus on the downward thrust of your legs. Move your hands back and forth. Hope that helps!

  5. Relax. All you have to do i kick your legs about and you won't drown. I swim 18hours a week so i know what im on about :). Just kick your legs like you are running up the stairs and whatever you do, dont panic :D. Hope this helped x.
