  1. simple get a professional horse trainer.... :)

  2. Like most of the other respondents, I strongly encourage you to hire a professional to train your horses. You can help with follow up training when the professional is unavailable, but I know from my own experiences that it is NOT wise to try to train a horse yourself if you are a beginner. It is far too easy to ruin an otherwise valuable animal with incorrect training- and oftentimes, horses that are trained by novices end up with bad habits that can make them dangerous to work with. I would also encourage you to make yourself available when your horses are being worked with, so that you can learn about the correct way to train them.  Meanwhile, read all that you can about training horses- and there are several books on the subject available from different authors. Watch videos and take lessons yourself from a good coach. If you can, attend some clinics or workshops with a couple of the top trainers- look on the web for clinic times and sites. All of these tips will help you gain the know-how you need to form a safe and effective partnership with your horses. Good luck.

  3. To train a horse:

    1. Don't ever hit or abuse them. Earn their trust and love and they will do anything for you.

    2. Go to seminars of the guy who is the real "horse whisperer".

    3. Take riding lessons. Preferably the balanced riding style.

  4. Hire a horse trainer is your best bet

  5. you hire a hoarse whisperer and within a day you have Mr. ED.

  6. Hire someone that is professional that knows what their doing to train your horses.

  9. I strongly suggest you find an experienced horse trainer to train or break your horses for you. In the hands of a novice horseperson, these animals are EXTREMELY dangerous. Their bigger than you, and they know it. It's wise not to try and back these animals yourself, becasue more than likely, you'll end up getting hurt. It's a 80-90% chance. Trust me. Even if your confident, a horse trainer has MANY, many years of horse training under their belt. They know what to do and how to react in emergency's. Horses that still need backed are obviously still green. A green horse and a green rider equals black and blue. First hand experience for me. I've been riding for years now and have been getting my green gelding along great, but I still don't have the experience to back a brand new horse. I'd be afraid of ruining it, too. Hope this helps! Trainers can be expensive, but it will SO be worth it!

  10. first of all don't be stupid thinking you know what you're doing and try to train the animal yourself. you should hire a professional trainer but stick around while there doing their jobs. make sure that the trainer rewards the horse for doing something right just make sure they don't hit or beat the animal if it isn't doing something right. when it comes to training to ride the horse make sure they are trained to the way your used to riding because if they aren't and you get on to ride and you do it your way the horse will get confuse as to what your doing.

    Good Luck!

  11. You may want buy a couple books/videos of people such as Monty Roberts and Pat Parelli and other similar trainers. The best training method that builds trust and a good relationship between you and your horse is called "natural horsemanship" I am sure a simple google search would help you find out more information. Try to see if there is a seminar in your area you could attend to get some hands on experience or at least see the techniques done live.

It is important that you build a good, solid, trusting relationship with your horse. Don't rush the horse into something it is not comfortable with. Never ever hit your horse (other than a firm smack if he tries to bite or kick). Make sure that you are patient. Like I said, you can't rush the process, or your horse will not turn out how you want.

Do your research. Make sure you understand the methods. If you are not comfortable and relaxed around horses, you may be better off hiring a trainer, but if you are a more experienced horse person, it would be very rewarding to train your own horse, plus you and your horse would have a stronger bond.

    Good luck!
