  1. First thing you need to do is hug her, don't try to avoid talking about it.  Give her a hug and tell her you are sorry that this happened and you want her to know what a wonderful person her daughter was and touch on the good things about her daughter such as her fun personality.  Don't tell her you know how she feels unless you have actually lost a child to suicide, just simply tell her you will be there any time she wants to talk.  I also suggest that if you can get her out of the house some try going to get a coke or a drive, just some time that you can talk.  If at all possible put together a scrapbook of pictures and momentos ask her to help you make this.  Time will heal, but right now she needs someone who won't run and avoid her when they see her coming, it is going to be a hard thing for you to experience but right now she needs you.

  2. I've had my grandfather and one of my best friends fathers commit suicide. It is a very very rough time to get through. Let her know that you're there for her whenever for whatever. Sometimes she might want to talk for hours sometimes she might want to cry and cry and cry and thats ok too. I havent been in the same situation but I've lost people to suicide you go through a lot of emotions (hurt, confussion, anger, you cry, you laugh, theres so many things) It does take time. Some of my family members went to meetings that people that had family members commit suicide went to just to talk to each other that helped some of them. Another one of my family members went to the doctor and got on some medication to help her sleep and stop crying. Its hard to be on the outside you feel helpless but just let her know that you care and your there for her.
