How do you tune your radio to receive channels from all around the world?

I am trying to get my radio to pick up channels from major cities all around America.

  1. well, now there are a few portable AM/FM/Shortwave radios on the market(even RadioShak) that are worth the effort...and somewhat cheper than a regular shortwave set....and running an outside antenna(v-shaped long wire..also available at RadioShack) will do a good job for you.....  73s and good listening..it's fun!  


  2. On a standard AM/FM radio, use the AM band late at night and make sure you have the best antenna available. this may even just be some bare wire attached to the current antenna. Then just tune slowly up and down the dial. You never know what will skip your way.

    and buy a booster. Phenominal reception.

    Still not enough? Short-wave! There's a lot of folks on this board who will probably pipe in with the short wave possibilities.
