How do you turn on a Trimline 210 AT&T phone on?

How do you turn on a Trimline 210 AT&T phone on?It came with a manual but it has no instructions and what type of batteries are needed?Please tell me I need this d**n phone working!I also don't have a Cell Phone so tell me! if the phone doesn't work waste of money! Thanks and please answer

The 210 Trimline is NOT a cordless phone. You just attach a phone to the phone outlet in your room. No batteries. It's a type of old fashioned phone. But it will continue working if your electric ever goes out.
