How do you tye dye a bedspread?

i want to tye die a bespread for my room. i'm going to get a queen bed and the colors i want to tye dye into a white bedspread are yellow and orange. i am 14 years old.

  1. May sure you are using really good dye. Check out Dahrma Company. Make sure your bedsread is 100% cotton if you can. Dye stays on natural fabric better than synthetic. I have dyed 50% cotton and 50% polyester sheets before. It worked, but the colors weren't super bright. Soak the bed spread in fixer, tie it all up how ever you want. Then mix you dye. I HIGHLY suggest the dipping method. Dip each section in the different colors of dye. Don't use a squirt bottle. I have always gotten brighter colors by dipping them in separate buckets. Put it in an air tight bag for 24 hours and let it sit. It doesn't have to dry or anything. Just sit. Then rinse it out in a sink. This is an important step so your white areas don't turn grey on you. Try to get as much loose dye out of it as you can before you wash it. Then wash separately.

  2. That is easy just take it to the laundry mat and just make it with strip and then washes it in a big large washers don't do it a home.
