How do you type in japanese?

I see people do it but can't figure it out. Also, what do keyboards look like in Japan?

    Do you use a MAC computer or a PC.

    I'll give you instructions for a mac if you need them.

    Also, keyboards in Japan look like this:

    It looks normal but has tha characters on it. To get a kanji, you press the space-bar after typing the hiragana and it will take you through the possible kanji!

    Interesting fact, they DID have Japanese typewriters, and they had THOUSANDS of buttons, look at this:

  2. in order to type in japanese you must have a japanese language installed in your computer. go to control panel select date, time, language and regional options. then click add other language. click details under languages tab. click the down arrow on the default input language and choose japanese. this setting is for windows xp.

    When you type, you should know what letters you press. for example in hiragana : おはよう -  ohayou (hello)

    o - お

    ha - は

    yo - よ

    u - う

    If you want to insert a kanji character press the space bar after typing the word.
