How do you type in pinyin on a Mac?

How do you type in Chinese pinyin on a Mac? Like with the tone numbers so if I tried to type ni hao into chinese characters I would have to enter it like this (ni2hao3). On the Mac I can only figure out how to type with pinyin without the tone numbers... please help! Can I change the settings in my Mac or should I buy a program... Thanks!
