I've been plunging all day since last night and well it's still clogged.

Any suggestions?

Besides tearing the toilet off.

  1. what sorst of plunger are you using

we have this absolute beauty at work

it is a hard plastic, about 18inches-2foot long and sort of folds like a concertina when you plunge

    works every time

a plumber brought it in once and then we bought our own

so get yourself down to the closest plumbers and ask for what they use good luck

  2. By a toilet snake.

    It is not expensive.

    Snake it.

    It's not harder that plunging.

  3. get a drain snake.... or you can pull the tiolet upby disconnecting the water and taking the two nuts off,, be sure tu buy a new wax ring!!

  4. Plunge it or use a snake.  If you plunge it, make sure there is some water in the bowl.  Also make sure you get a good seal.  Sometimes if it sits a while it breaks down and makes the job easier, that is unless there is a whole platoon of G.I. Joe men down there!

  5. go out-side and locate any pipe-work that aligns with your Toilet/Water closet and look for an `inspection plate`/`opening`.....this will be an access point to the under-ground piping from the Cistern.

remove the i.p. (care-fully) and see if any liquid seeps out from the seal.

if so , you need to call a Registered Plumber to work on ANY system that is connected to City/Town Sewerage.

if not connected to Sewerage...then you will be on a stand-alone or  SEPTIC system that utilises a tank for holding the waste.

if seepage occurs on this type of system , you then need to find the tank and remove (again...care-fully) the lid to access the tank and the In-let pipe.

most times a clog occurs because of a build-up of paper material and it is simply a matter of finding a stick and removing the clog.

once removed , the pipes should free-up and waste and water will flow to the Tank , thus alleviating the back-up and draining the toilet.

good luck and keep me posted on your success or........!
