  1. you pull them out but if your going to homeschool them you have to get a paper and fill it out of what there curriculum would be.

  2. WHen i switched to homeschooling, or distance education technically, I just called and had them send my transcripts to the school I was going through. But I was going through a school. If you are going to be educating your children your best bet would be to talk to your school board. They will be able to get you any forms you may need and could probably give you some help finding books and other materials you may need.

I know you didnt ask this but the switch from public school to online was the best move I made. Not only is the curriculum more challenging, but I am able to learn at my pace which is usually quicker than a standard school. Plus I have a better understanding of the material I am studying. THe only road block I have hit so far are teacher recommendations for college applications. This just meant I really had to make an effort to get to know my teachers. Just make sure you keep your kids involved in community activities since they will be missing out on school activities. Good Luck!

  3. all you have to do is send a letter to your child's school saying you are providing education out of school.

    a good website is

i am assuming you are in the UK

    the page for deregistration advice

  4. It really really depends on where you are living. For example, Oklahoma and Texas you don't have to even tell them, you can just stop sending them to school. In other states, you must fill in paperwork AND be approved for homeschooling before you begin.

I would suggest looking at the law for your area, through http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/dire...

    Good luck!

  5. If you are just moving schools have the new school transfer the records. If you are going to homeschool then you can requests the records yourself and they have to give them to you. SOme districts may frown on it but legally they have to relinquish them to you.

  6. Certain states you need to go to the board of education or just ask in the school's office

  7. I went to the office and told them I am removing my children to home school them. They laughed and told me I couldn't just remove them from the school like that and I had to go to the school board. So I did she sent me back to the school. By the time I got back (8 blocks between the 2) they were ready to discharge my kids. I already had proof that the board of education knew I was planning to home school so there was nothing they could do to stop me.

  8. In the US, in most states you just hand them a letter letting them know you're pulling your child.  Some states have a form they require.

In the UK, not sure...the schools there work a bit differently than schools in the US.
