How do you update your 1.1.2 ipod for itunes 7

Question

I have the 1.1.2. ipod version but I can only find the itunes for the 7 version. They aren't compatible and googling it and reading forums are not helping. Does anyone know a link to download a compatible version?? Thanks!

what i did  is i went to

itunes then go to

help and in help click

check for updates

then its gonna ask you if you want to update it to 7.7.1
