How do you upgrade your house to the second stage on harvest moon ds?

You call Gotz i think. But I think you have to live in the town at least 3 months, and have a horse.

It's basically the same thing. Upgrade the house once first, and then once you have enough materials, call Gotz on the phone and get him to upgrade your house.

There are a few requirements to reach house stage two.

1.  Buy at least one item a day for 10 days from Karen's Supermarket.  (Some say the days must be consecutive, if so Tuesday's and Festival Days do not count against you.)  This opens the Sprite Channel 2.

2.  Watch Channel 2 once a day, if a grey box item appears, you can't buy it, anything else and you should order it if you can afford it.  You are looking for the table, which you must purchase.  (In my observations, the channel only offers a "real" item once a week on the day you opened the channel.)

3.  Once the table has been delivered, you can get the upgrade from Gotz.  The first upgrade can only be done with wood.  The second only with stone.  You can buy the materials as normal, and since your house is invicible, you don't have to worry about it collapsing.

4.  Reaching the third stage is as simple as calling Gotz again after he finishes stage 2 and telling him to expand again.  There are no requirements for stage 3 other than stage 2.
