How do you use GIMP for photo editing?

I don't even know how to get the photo up to even start editing it can someone please tell me how.

Heck, I have already answered this question before, but either my answer disappeared, or you asked the very same thing twice  :-(

Anyway....... with Gimp, it isn't a question of getting the photo UP, but a case of downloading the editor to your computer and installing it.

After that, you start reading help files and tutorials, watching videos about it, etc.

Gimp is a huge program, it has most of the features that photoshop has, so it isn't something that can be learned without a great amount of effort.

Good part is that there is a lot help out there for it, you just have to do the work. It is worth it, though.
