  1. Check Youtube they have answer videos for almost everything.

  2. You mean only ONE pin?  Do you mean, like a large decorative hair clip type of thingy?

This is very simple to do, but so very hard to explain!!  I don't know of any videos, but let me try to explain.

This is used to hold the hair up in various positions.  For example, if you wanted to hold up the hair on one side, just above the ear.  You would brush the hair up into the position, then take the pin, and with the points towards the scalp and pointing in the direction the hair was brushed (upwards from ear to top of head), you would slide the prongs about to where you want the pin to sit. Then stop, and keeping the tips of the prongs near the scalp, turn the other end so it is now pointing from where it started.  Then slide the pin into your hair with the prongs quite close to the scalp for a firm grasp.  It will be sitting with the tips pointing down towards your ear.  And there is enough tension with the hair and the pin to hold it in place.

It's always the same.  And after a time, it becomes so automatic, you never even think about it.  So it's "comb" the hair with the pin, turn it around, and slide it in with the prongs pointing towards where it started.

You can do this with a roll at the back of the head too, but the pin needs to be large enough to hold all that hair.

There are small tiny pins like that too, which hide in the hair, but are put in exactly the same.  If you have a decorative comb, with many prongs, it is still done exactly the same: comb, stop and turn, and push in towards where it started.  Try it several times and you will see how easy it is.  Maybe ask your grandmother, or some other older lady in the neighbourhood because they used to wear them all the time "in the old days".

I hope that is the kind of pin you meant.  If not, then ignore this whole answer!  haha
