  2. I normally loosen the drag and set the alarm on baitcasters. Bottom fishing and trolling will require different drag adjustments.

  3. Here's the easiest alarm there is. Ya take a empty cola can and enlarge the opening just enough to slip it over the tip of your fishing rod, just a couple inches. When a fish pulls the line and bait, it also causes the can to jump off the rod tip and the noise of the can hitting the ground will alert ya to the bite.

    For a good bait, buy any ole brand of Yellow Hominy corn and use a small circle hook because carp has small round mouths. Also, don't fish a tight line, any resistance and they'll drop it like a hot fry pan.
