How do you use a franking machine?

say you have 8 envelopes you want to "frank", how would u start? what would be the first thing you do?

Ensure you have an account with royal mail and you'll be given an account number to input into the machine (often pre installed) then you need to buy credit from royal mail and this is done either on a payment cartridge you insert into the machine or on an online account on web enabled franking machines.

you then tell the machine what value of postage you need and feed the envelopes though it. each time you send a letter at 32p it will deduct 32p from your available credit until it reaches 0.00 then the  machine will NOT frank any more!
