Do you pay the item's actual price you bought it at (say at eBay) and also the handling charge at the post office?

Can somebody also tell me the process by which to purchase it as well, please? Thanks!

  1. to get a postal order you just go into the post office and ask for a postal order, say you need something for £3.35 thats what you ask for, you pay a little extra (not sure how much) and the postal order is printed out with the amount on it, all you have to do is write down the name of the person who is going to cash it, and then just send it off, very easy.

  2. You go into the post office and ask for a postal prder for however much you want, you have to pay extra for them though.

Then you just take them back to a post office and get them cashed, free of charge.

  3. a postal order isn't linked to bank at all. its like a cheque they make out for you. you just go to the past office and ask them for a postal order, and how much you need it for, so if it's for something on e-bay, you include all the costs you are being charged. the post office will then print you the order, just like a cheque, you can have it crossed, so only the person it is paying can cash it.  you will be charged a handling fee by the post office, its not that much but if it is for over a large amount, you will be charged quite a bit! just ask them first how much of a charge will be made!

  4. No, it's more than the price you want to send - by about 20% I think.  It's like a paper cheque and then you post it.  The person who recieve's it takes it to the post office and gets given cash in exchange.

The process to buy one is simple, you just go into the post office and say 'can I have a postal order for _____ however much?' and they say yes, tell you how much it costs and give it to you.

  5. You go to your Post Office tell them the amount it's for ,say £3-00 they then add 0-46 or £14-00 They then add £1-23 handling fee its different depends on how much your actual postal order is for  ...They will ask you if you want the persons name on it & if you want it crossed...If you crosss the postal order it can only be cashed by putting it into a bank , uncrossed & it can be cashed at the post office

  6. A Postal MONEY Order works like ANY money order.  It is NOT linked to your account in any way.  You DO NOT pay the price of the item OR handling charges to the Post Office.  You pay the value of the Money Order.  You then have a piece of paper worth $X.  That piece of paper is used to pay the seller.
