How do you use a sewing machine?

I have a sewing machine(a elna colina I believe)and I was wondering how to use it. Any help????

Wow, go to Wal-mart and let them demonstrate one for you.Make sure the machine works.Thread it , wind the bobbin, place a piece of fabric under the foot lower the foot and give it some power from the pedal.

If you don't have the original owner's manual, you could check eBay or Google "elna covina" or just "elna" and see what comes up.

Otherwise, you might want to check a few thrift stores, bookstores or eBay to see if they have any sewing reference books.  Readers Digest, Singer and Better Homes & Gardens all made excellent sewing books, complete with sections on the various sewing machine attachments and their uses, apparel projects and home decor projects.
