How do you use goo gone?

I have tree sap on my car so I bought a product called goo gone. I was just wondering what the safest way to use this product is?

a better product is 3m adhesive and mark remover you can get it at any auto parts store works great

Pt the goo be gone on a rag and wipe the car with it

Please, Whatever you do WASH IT OFF!!! It will ruine your paint if its left on, even just a little. Make sure you get it all off! And the safest way is to put it on, rub it in, get it off ASAP... DO NOT USE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT!!!! IT WILL DRY TOO FAST! put it in a garage...sorry for the caps but im trying to save your paint!
