How do you use hair conditioner?

I have been putting some on the roots on my hair then sort of bringing into to the ends and then i massage my scalp but my cousin says that will make my scalp really oily and she says to only put it on the ends of my hair. What is the correct way of doing this?

It depends on your hair type. I have very dry hair so I use conditioner liberally; some people apply it just to their ends because they have hair that gets oily faster. It's not the same for everyone.

My hair is oily, so I only use it on the ends of my hair. The thing that makes your scalp oily the most is washing it every day. By cleaning your hair every day and taking away the natural oils, your scalp over-compensates and produces more oil. Don't wash your hair every day, but condition it every day.

There's no "right way," it depends on your hair type. Do what ever works for you.
