How do you use the Kingston 4 GB DataTraveler to transfer files from one Computer to another.?

  1. i would just copy and paste but if you were planning on transferring 4 gigs at a time i would use a crossover cable it would be much faster

  2. When you plug the DataTraveler into a USB slot, the operating system will install it as if it was a disk drive, with its own letter. If you have a typical setup with a hard disk (drive C) and a CD/DVD (drive D), the USB drive should show up as drive E.

    For Windows:

    Double-click on MyComputer

    Double click on the USB drive (probably E)

    Then open a window containing whatever files you want to transfer.

    Drag the files from the latter window to the window for the USB drive.

    Extract the USB drive from the USB slot.

    Bring it over to the other computer and do essentially the same thing, except now the USB drive is the source.

    You may need to properly dismount the USB drive if it is set to do deferred writes, but usually all the writes are synced by default.
