I am trying to use the phrase at the end of the sentence like this:

"The event has influenced the world ever since."

It sounds awkward, but is it the right way? If not, how should I reword it?

  1. You could say, 'Ever since then, the event has influenced the world.' The preceding sentence would have to link up to explain the 'ever since then'.

More simply: 'The event has continued to influence the world'.

  2. that sounds right

  3. your sentence is incomplete. "The event has influenced the world ever since....." I can say  "The event has influenced the world ever since Iraq war started.".

Another example here, " She smoked ever since she left school." -- she left school in 2004, it is now 2008. She has  smoked for 4 years / she has smoked since 2004...This sentence shows us she has been smoking for 4 years.. Hope that will help..

( Ever since she left school she has smoked.)

  4. that is correct

  5. Sorry, close though. Ever since is like a sentence conjuncture.

"The even has influence the world ever since 2pac died" That's how you use "ever since" What influenced the world to change? Your sentence is unfinished.
