How do you use the velcro thing on the RBK Edge socks?

I just bought those new RBK Edge socks and there's a velcro strap at the top. One side of it is completely removable, the other is attached to the sock. Anyway, I'd like to know the proper way to attach these cause this is all new to me. Thanks.
