I am very curious to know how, I love wild animals and I've been very intrigued by them. I've always loved wild animals more than my own pets which is a little sad lol. I am wanting to volunteer for a wildlife rescue center and I am hoping someone would help me out.

  1. Check your local phone book and find one in your area.

Call and ask them if they have any volunteer programs and when they start the training for them.

They will usually have an orientation date you have to attend and they will give you all the information you need as well as what kind of positions are available and what is required.

    Good luck!

  2. Why volunteer when you can be a paid forest ranger for our National Forest Preserve.  You may not work directly with the animals but the forest is home to many wild animals.  They need someone like you.  Good luck and go for it.

  3. Why wait for someone to help you out?  Just DO IT!!

  4. I think the best way to start out is to go to your closest veterinarian and ask to help out there and then move on when an opportunity arises, good luck.

  5. .We have the North woods Wildlife Center where we live, which is the north woods of Wisconsin.  Husband is volunteer there.  He prepares food and feeds the Owl's that no longer can be returned to the wild.

This is a non profit organization.  Take in injured or sick wildlife in the hopes they can be released back into their own environment.

You could call DNR (Department of Natural Resourses) in your area.  They may be able to steer you in right direction.

Find a list of non profit organizations dealing with Wild Life.

Check out the library or phone book under wild life.  You could call a shelter and they may be able to help you.
