  2. First of all, sounds like you are not getting enough sleep. Adolescents need more sleep than older adults, so if you're feeling tired and cranky when you wake up -

    * you need to go to bed earlier.

*Are you getting a restful sleep?

    * If not, you need to investigate why this is.

*Perhaps you are eating late at night, drinking caffeine rich drinks (coffee, tea, coke), getting over stimulated before bed, bad pillow/bed

    * Try reading or listening to soft music before bed.

Secondly, Try and see the beauty of an early morning. Everything feels and smells crisp and clean.

I love getting up early, even when I don't have to. I feel that I'm making the most of my day but most of all I love to sit on the verandah looking out to the mountain, listening to the birds and sipping my hot cup of tea in peace and quiet while the rest of my family sleep. Mmmmm

  3. This is going to sound nuts, but I have to be to work by 7 am every morning and this has worked for me:

Set the alarm 30-45 minutes *before* you actually have to get up.  Here's the trick - you don't get up - you don't even hit the 'snooze' button.  You turn it off, go back to sleep and wait for your normal alarm to go off.  Like I said, I know it sounds weird, but somehow when you wake up and realize that you still have another 30-45 minutes of quality pillow time, you feel like you're cheating the system, and the 'extra' sleep you do get after waking up always seems more productive.

    Best of Luck!
