My net curtains have spots of black mould at the bottom caused by condensation through the winter. Can anyone recommend the best way of getting them out?

  1. Change them for new ones and then buy a de-humidifier this will take excess moister away from them. Or you could take them to a dry cleaners!

  2. I have the same problem but  with my actual window curtains.  They are floor length and the bottom is black with mould.  So far I have tried hand scrubbing with soap and it's made little to no improvement.

With net curtains being white I guess bleach is your best bet, my curtains are coloured so I'll be hunting for something else!

    Good luck, I hate mould!

  3. My neighbour bleaches her nets, make sure you dilute it though otherwise you'll end up with more holes than net!

  4. Natural remedy for you to try is to squeeze some fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with salt, place in sun and leave several hours, repeat if necessary and wash as normal.

Other thing that you could try is a laundry soaker with bleach such as an oxy action powder to soak them and then launder as normal. Hang in sun if you can to help reduce any residual stain and kill off any spores if they have been unlucky enough to survive the treatment

Does not matter whether they are cotton or synthetic net - this treatment is OK for both

  5. Mold should just wash off, then put them in whitener.

  6. Try some white vinegar...

  7. baby's nappy whitener is great. it get any stains of cloths, nets. you buy it in supermarkets. its called napisan, and its with the baby wipes, and baby bottles etc.its £1 38,and its a medium size box,its well worth it. good luck.xx
