Question:

How do you wash a bath sponge?

I recently bought a synthetic sea sponge to use in the shower. I've never used a sponge before since I've always used washcloths. However, there are no washing directions on the tag. How do I keep the sponge sanitary? I'm hesitant to throw it in the washer/dryer.

  1. stick it in the microwave for 1 min it should kill all the the bacteria. same works for all sponges.

  2. just soak in water and squeeze it

  3. I would throw it into the machine with your towels and such.  But, do not put in the dryer.

  4. throw it in a tub of water.

  5. You put it in the micro wave for a minute or so and then wash it like you do all your things in the washing machine or by hand.

  6. Simply allow it to soak in a MILD bleach and water solution.

    Then rinse well.

    Good Luck,  ;-)

  7. hahahahahah i have no idea i have always just rinsed it under the sink with soap and clean warm water.

  8. If it's synthetic. it's probably OK to throw it in the washer and dryer. Make sure you let it dry completely between uses by hanging it up.

  9. well my mom puts hears in the dish washer and it smell good and clean.

  10. When you first get it, just rinse it out really well in the shower with some soap. After that, you can clean it every couple weeks by wetting it and microwaving it for about a minute, but throw it out after that, don't keep a sponge more than 3 or so months.

  11. Wash it by rubbing it against your body while bathing. Similarly as to the way you use it to wash yourself while bathing but instead of using the sponge to clean your body, use your body to clean the sponge.

  12. you don't. you replace it every 3 to 4 months
