I need 40 bucks and part of earning it is by washing my parents cars (2). But idk what to use on the outside. Can i use plain soap (the stuff for dishwashing) and water or do i have to use special stuff made for car washing? Is it ok to mix soap, vinegar, and water together? So what should i use?

  1. I wouldn't use vinegar or dish soap. They both can ruin the paint. They make soaps just for washing cars, all you need is a very little of it in a bucket of warm water. Wet the car with water first, use a car mitt or a sponge to wash the car in sections. Wash the roof, then rinse all the soap off. Wash the windows, rinse. Wash the hood and front, then wash each side, then the trunk and back, then the tires. This way the soap will not dry on the car. You can dry the car with a chamois, a regular towel will just leave lint and streaks. Hope this helps. Good luck!

  2. I wouldn't use the vinegar. Just cuz it can eat away at the paint. You should be fine with dish soap. Just use a car wash mitt because those are soft enough not to scratch the paint. Most household towels are too rough.
