You can wash any ball cap in your washing machine with similar color items.  When it is finished, take it out of the washer, form it with your hands to the shape it should be, allow it to get almost dry while sitting on something round that it will fit over.  When it is almost dry, use some spray starch on the inside and the outside to help the cap hold it's shape.  Continue to let the cap dry completely.

If the cap has just common dust and perspiration on it, your detergent should handle it just fine.  If it is soiled with something more than that, you may want to use a common spray and wash product before laundering.  

When you see how easy it is to do this, you will tell all your friends how smart you are in the laundry!

They sell these wire things that help them keep their shape when you wash them in the dishwasher.  I've seen them at Wal-Mart for about $3.  This is what they look like:
