How do you wear eyeliner - without making your eyes look smaller?

Question

I just started to wear eyeliner about a month ago. I have long blonde hair, beige skin, and green eyes. Im using a black pencil eyeliner, but I always find when I wear it it makes my eyes look a lot smaller?

Should I use a liquid instead?

How do you wear it to make your eyes look fairly natural, and good !?

The answer with eyeliner is: less is more!  Don't surround your entire eye with black.  Black makes things look smaller, which is why the "little black dress" is such a staple of a woman's wardrobe.  Use a lighter color, only on the top eyelid near the lashes.  Then, use some darker color of eyeshadow and smudge it a bit on the bottom near the outer corner of the eye.  It makes the eyes look more open.

I had the same problem until i went to a makeup artist who taught me quite a bit about makeup.

   What i was told to do was only wear the eyeliner on the top lid and it will not only make your eyelashes look thicker but make your eyes actually look a slight bit bigger. Try to get an eyeliner that has the same color as your mascara. To make it look natural keep the liner very close to the lash line and dont make it too thick either.

well i've figured out if you have small eyes or if you don't if you put it inside your eye then it gets smaller. just put it over your eyelashes

i wear liquid all the times, do the arabic look thats when u wear the eyeliner above your eyelashes u line above and the bottom of your eyes its a very beautiful look specialy for u because u have green eyes.  once u get used to it ur not gonna be able to stop wearing liquid eyeliner but first time it i'll be hard for u to make the lines perfect but then u'll get used to it.

Instead of using a black liner, try using a dark brown instead. This instantly give you a more natural look but is still very dark and lines your eyes well. I also have blonde hair and green eyes and I brown is an amazing color for green eyes. Green is a cool color, so using warm colors on your lids makes your eyes pop. So apply your eyeliner to your top lid and add a little wing at the ends of your lids. Not a hugely noticeable one, but a small one. It adds length to your eyes and makes them stand out. Try to get your line as close to the lash line as possible, it keeps the eyeliner effect, but makes it way more natural looking.

Liquid eyeliner is great for making your eyes appear larger, it just takes some practice to get it to look the way you want. I would also suggest a dark brown for your liquid liner. Also it is important that you get your line close to the lash line. It is also important to apply the liner in small lines to create a single line instead of applying it in one single swipe!

You should try brown, because you have those features. I'd say on the heavy side on the top(thick), and then connect to the bottom, but start fading and end it halfway. It works wonders! My eyes look amazing! Liquid might make it worse because it's so matte. You can also try cateyes

I have the same problem! Try just putting eyeliner on the top with mascara it should open your eyes, dont put it on too thick and never put it in ur eyes! goodluck babbeee
